My father needs prayer

I am not going to go into too much detail, I can't bear it. Last Wednesday night at the cottage on the Cape, my dad had a heart attack out of nowhere. He was in bed and we heard him breathing strange. Due to early CPR and quick response by the Dennis Port Police he is alive. He died before my eyes after giving him CPR, the police arrived seconds later and shocked him 3 times. His heart started beating again and he began breathing. His heart is in bad shape. My dad just turned 60. I was writing this to ask for prayer because he is having surgery right now but my mom just called while I was typing the last sentence and said he made it through just fine. The doctors are putting in a defibrillator pacemaker tomorrow. I am spending nights at my parents house and days here at home while they are in Massachusetts. Please, please keep dad (Bill) and my family in your prayers. Please pray that the Lord will use this to bring my family to Him (my family does not believe).

She Loves me....

I'm posting new jewelry in the shop in my pj's (it's late) and I discover Pippa has moved her bed right behind my chair and is having a nice snooze.

I just posted these in the shop. The opals are exquisite and the camera is just unfair (and my photography skills are crap)

Imperial Azurite....

It's gloomy...cold....and wet outside so I may need to re-shoot these pictures. The brilliant sharpness of the colors are really outstanding.

Purple Druzy Jasper sterling silver necklace

Purple Druzy Jasper sterling silver wide band circle overlay ring

Pippa is getting so big! She is also mellowing out significantly. I can cuddle with her without the biting. She is much, much more likable these days. I am so relieved! I was a bit concerned for a little while. I received so many convos and emails with wonderful advise and help I just want to say thank you thank you thank you!!

Celebrating 4 Years On ETSY!

Celebrating 4 Years On Etsy!

Opening a shop on Etsy 4 years ago was just a shot in the dark. I had never heard of the site. I was selling on Ebay for a bit part time on the side as a hobby. A lady sent me a message telling me to check out "Etsy". I was thinking, "thanks but no thanks" and I did not give it another thought for a few weeks. I had some extra time on my hands so I googled Etsy. I discovered it was only .20 a listing and no monthly fees so I opened up a shop so hastily that I spelled "lovelies" wrong, little did I know that that would be the screen name I would have to keep f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I did not notice I misspelled it until a few months later and at that point I was unwilling to change it because I had built up fast sales and feedback. To change it would mean I would have had to open a brand new shop. Anyway.... I listed a few things in my shop and began getting sales pretty quickly. I had no customer base and did not bring any customers over from Ebay. My pictures were horrible and I had no clue what I was doing.

This is my very first listing picture on Etsy....

I spent a lot of time in the forums back then (do the forums still exist?) asking questions and paying close attention to the advise of successful sellers. Little by little I found my way (with a few bumps in the road). A few months after opening the shop I was so busy I needed to make a decision to either scale back my sales or close my Day Care business. I took a leap and closed the day care to run my shop full-time. I have been blessed. I can help support my family while being home with my boys.
I don't get "into" Etsy at all. I did in the beginning. I am not a member of any teams nor do I participate in the community. The site is "artsyfartsy, newwavy, touchyfeely ...." in my opinion so I use it very simply. I do my work then go home so to speak. I do appreciate that they are always evolving, making the site better. I have never had any luck getting support when I needed it so I just govern myself as much as I can and treat it as my own independent site with the perks of re-listing. I am grateful to Etsy for my success, I don't think it would have happened if I had my own site floating around in cyber space. I am extremely grateful for all of my faithful customers. I am constantly pleased by the return business I receive.
So in short (or long actually) THANK YOU!! Your business is a blessing to me and my family.

I really don't like my new puppy

She bites really hard. She bites my pants and rips them. She jumps up and grabs my shirt and rips it. It hurts to play with her. She attacks your feet when you walk. This may sound like normal puppy stuff, but it isn't. It's much more extreme. I am a bit nervous that if she does not grow out of the this biting business soon, she will begin to really hurt us (it already really hurts). She has lots of toys and chewies and bones to keep her busy and she does use them. She just likes human (and Shih Tzu) flesh better. Oh, LuLu does not like her that much. Pippa is a really smart girl. She will come, sit, stay.... also she will sit and wait until you give her permission to eat her food. I am hopeful everything will be okay, it has to be. I can't imagine being forced by her behavior to have to find her a new home. I am very frustrated.

I took these pictures this morning. Pippa likes to bury her chewies in the yard then dig them up again, play with them and find a new place to bury them. It is very cute.

So, how's everything else here at the Hendrick house?? We need prayer. Please.
